MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
May is Mental Health Awareness Month.  Please wear Green on Wednesday, May 1st, to show that you care about mental health.  Green is the national color of mental health acceptance, representing hope, strength, support, and encouragement for people who live with mental illness.

  JUNIOR & SENIOR PROMS

Juniors and Seniors: Be on the lookout for prom contracts in your emails! You can also pick them up in the Main Office.


SENIORS: Prom tickets will be on sale next week 4/29 - 5/3 during all lunches outside the cafeteria when available and after school every day in the Main Atrium from 2:00 PM - 2:45 PM.  Senior fees ARE STILL BEING COLLECTED and must be paid and contracts must be fully completed to purchase a ticket. 


JUNIORS:The Junior's Mirror Ball will take place May 17th from 6pm-10pm at the high school. Tickets will be on sale until Friday May 3rd before school and after school in room 301 as well as at lunches.
NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.
Contracts are needed to purchase a ticket. They can be found in the main office. Cash and checks accepted. Any questions, please contact Miss Acquaviva.

If you are parking in the Junior Lot at Byron Johnson Park YOU MUST have your car registered with AHS! You can find Junior Parking registration paperwork on the AHS website or in the Main Office. No parking sticker= a write-up from Security!

 SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY

Attention students taking Spanish: Spanish Honor Society applications are open! Please read and sign the bylaws and complete the application in full. Applications and bylaws must be handed directly to Senora Konopka by May 13th. In order to apply, make sure you meet all of the qualifications, including the GPA and course requirements. Go to the AHS website and click on the Activities tab then Honor Societies to find all necessary information.

MATH HONOR SOCIETY
Attention All Students! Do you have a friend, classmate or sibling that is taking an AP Test next month?  If so, consider buying them a Meme Candy Gram. The Math Honor Society is selling Meme Candy Grams this week during all lunches in preparation for the upcoming AP Tests. You can send a Meme, Candy & a Short Note of encouragement to any student that will be taking an AP test next month. See Mrs. Kocubinski or Mrs. Remm if you have any questions.

Attention FFA Members: Are you interested in serving as a chapter officer? The officer application is now available on Google Classroom. Join the chapter officer team on Monday, April 29th after school in the Ag Building to learn more about Chapter Office and to answer any questions you may have! Applications are due by May 9th.
On Tuesday, April 16th, members participated in the Eastern PA Competitions in Lebanon, PA. This event serves as the qualifier for New Jersey. We are proud to announce the following results!


Poultry Evaluation: Team Placed 3rd in the State out of 7 teams!

And on Thursday, April 18th, members of the Allentown FFA participated in the New Jersey FFA Spring Competitions at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. We are pleased to announce the following results!


🥇Veterinary Science- Placed 1st in the State out of 16 teams and will represent NJ at the National FFA Convention this fall!

The boys lacrosse team is selling spring tulips from Holland Ridge Farms outside of the cafeteria during lunch periods on May 8th, 9th, and 10th. Tulips are 10 for $10 - help to support the team by getting a friend or loved one some fresh flowers!

SPORTS NEWS

Attention Redbirds - Please be aware that if the turf field gates are closed, it is off limits. No one should be jumping over or going under fences to access the field. Any student who is found to have accessed the field when it is closed will be written up for being out of bounds. If you have questions regarding this policy please stop by the Athletics Office.

SPORTS SCORES

 

Here are yesterday’s  sports scores:


Boys Golf took on Steinert at Mercer Oaks and won 156-166. Team low of 38 belonged to Mike Eidel and Cade Maglione. 


Girls Golf traveled to Pebble Creek Golf Course and beat Colts Neck 160-206. There’s a new program low score of 160, Katie Young had her  personal best of 42, and  Haley Romanian har her  personal best of 49. Emerson Paulette had the team low 36.


Baseball visited Steinert and despite a tough loss of 3-1 for the Varsity team, Eddie Werse threw a complete game with  5 strikeouts and Dom Inzilla hit the only RBI. JV also lost 8-7.


Softball split their games with Steinert, with JV winning 11-0 and Varsity taking a 5-2 loss. Riley Daly had a homer and 2 RBI’s. Stella Logan went 2 for 3 and earned her 100th career hit, congratulations Stella!

Varsity Girls Lacrosse went down to  Moorestown and lost 9-4. 2 goals for Delaney Nolan. Chloe Conti and Maya Lourenco had  1 goal each.
